A Spring Valley man was convicted for a violent, unprovoked attack in the Village of Haverstraw.
The Rockland County district attorney says 34-year-old Darius Williams has been convicted of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
About a year ago, Williams slashed a man in the face with what seemed to be a box cutter as the man was walking with his wife.
The DA's office says Williams and the victim didn't know each other and there was seemingly no motive for the attack.
Williams is scheduled to be sentenced next month and faces up to seven years in state prison on each count he was convicted on.
