A Spring Valley woman was airlifted by helicopter after her van collided head-on with a Rockland County bus on Route 45 Tuesday.
Police say the accident happened at around 3 p.m., when the 19-year-old driver behind the wheel of the mini-van crossed the yellow line and crashed into the Transport of Rockland bus.
The driver of the van sustained broken bones and internal injures. Three out of 10 people aboard the bus were also hurt and taken to a local hospital.
Following the crash, Route 45 was temporarily closed for an accident investigation. A spokesperson for Transport of Rockland bus company says the 91, 91 Direct and 94 buses were re-routed until the road opened.
