State police work to ID body that washed ashore in Poughkeepsie

Several people reached out to News 12 with video from the scene while authorities worked to retrieve the remains from the shoreline.

New York State Police are working to confirm the identity of a person whose body washed ashore along the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie on Saturday.
Several people reached out to News 12 with video from the scene while authorities worked to retrieve the remains from the shoreline.
They say the body was found near a children’s museum and the Walkway Over the Hudson.
Police say an autopsy is being performed to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
