Storm cleanup is continuing in Rye after heavy rain and strong winds caused widespread damage across the community.

A section of Forest Avenue between Manursing Avenue and Grace Church Road has been closed on and off because of a tree hanging on utility wires.

The recent storm left debris scattered throughout neighborhoods along Forest Avenue and other tree-lined streets.

Residents said crews have been working for days to clear the damage.

Department of Public Works crews have reopened most roads that were closed because of fallen trees.

Officials said Con Edison crews are working on the damaged wires along Forest Avenue.

Once that work is completed, DPW crews will finish removing the tree and clearing the area.

Only a small number of customers remain without power.

Officials said those remaining outages are expected to be restored sometime this afternoon.
