ALERTS: Winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday.
A very cold night is on tap with surface temperatures falling to the teens. Expect a refreeze from the snow to create some icy spots overnight through early Sunday. Sunday will have some moments of sunshine, but temperatures will remain below freezing.
A storm system is expected to move in by Sunday evening, bringing freezing rain, which will result in ice accumulations of up to .01" for Orange, Putnam, Ulster and Dutchess counties. Expect icy roads and walkways through early Monday morning.
OVERNIGHT: A very cold night, a few clouds but mainly clear skies, and icy spots. Lows in the teens.
SUNDAY: Peeks of sunshine, clouds will take over the skies early in the afternoon. Freezing rain is expected after 6 PM then changing to rain near midnight. Highs in the 30s. Lows in the 30s. Ice accumulation will be up to .01" for Orange, Putnam, Ulster, and Dutchess Counties. Expect icy road conditions overnight.
MONDAY: Icy roads, any freezing rain or rain will have a break in the morning, then return again around 10 AM before clearing out in the early afternoon. It will be milder for a time before becoming colder again at night. A few snow flurries are possible at night for areas north of Westchester.
TUESDAY: Sun and clouds, breezy, and colder. Highs in the low 30s. Lows in the 20s.
