Students at the Naval Sea Cadet Corps at Maritime College are afraid they might lose their program.
Students and parents say the program is not just teaching kids about marine life, but preparing kids for the real world. The simulated Naval Corps members are learning lifelong values, like respect and honor.
Parents say they were told that the program was lacking funds. The cadets pay for everything themselves, from uniforms to patches.
In the coming weeks, school officials will reach out to the local community for help in saving the program.
