Fans lined up along Lafayette Avenue on Wednesday to watch the Suffern High School Mounties ice hockey team ride around the village and celebrate their championship win.
The parade follows the team’s recent victory over Orchard Park, in which the Mounties won 6-2 to take home the Division 1 New York State Hockey Championship title.
This is the second Division 1 state title that the team has won in the last three years, and the fourth they have won in their program’s history.
Following the parade, the team went to a reception where the athletic director and coach both spoke and congratulated the team on their season.
