Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced the expansion of mental health services across all SUNY campuses with an investment of nearly $10 million in state funding for the project.
The investment aims to enhance services at 28 campuses and support over 200,000 students, as well as faculty and staff members who will also have access to the services.
The campuses plan to utilize the investments to hire additional staff members such as psychologists and social workers,  to provide students with telecounseling options and to increase pay to per diem staff members.
The funding is part of Hochul's $163 million increase in aid to SUNY's state-operated campuses.
