154ds agoA SUNY Orange honor student in Middletown is now one of 20 students nationwide to receive a prestigious academic award and scholarship.
Carly Glasse, from Goshen, has earned a spot on what's known as the All-USA Academic Team and received a $5,000 scholarship.
The distinction is one of the most significant academic awards any SUNY Orange student has ever received, according to the college. The 32-year-old is the first SUNY student to receive it.
"I'm absolutely honored to part of it. We had an initial reception, where we got to meet everybody else who got the award last Friday, and the people – all 20 of us – every single person is amazing," Glasse said.
Glasse will graduate this spring with an Associates in Business Administration and has been accepted to Columbia and Pace University.
