Susan Siegel projected winner in Yorktown council election

Siegel defeated Republican Donna Diana by 53 votes. Diana is the widow of former Town Supervisor Tom Diana, who passed away in January.

Yorktown Democrat Susan Siegel is projected to win Tuesday's special election for the vacant town council seat, according to unofficial results from the Westchester Board of Elections.

Siegel defeated Republican Donna Diana by 53 votes. Diana is the widow of former Town Supervisor Tom Diana, who passed away in January.

The election was held to fill the seat vacated by Republican Ed Latcherman after he was elected town supervisor.

The board of elections is expected to certify the results in the coming days.
