The YMCA at Tarrytown will close its doors for good Monday at its location on Main Street.
The building has been sold to make way for the construction of affordable housing.
The YMCA has offered services ranging from fitness programs to child care for more than a century, and is promising to continue to serve the community at new location in the future.
"We're still here and we're still offering our services to the community and to the underserved. It's just going to be in a different venue. We're not a building, we're the program and services staff that delivers those programs and that's where we'll be," says YMCA CEO Gerry Riera.
Officials say there is no current plan to move the "Y" out of Tarrytown, however, they will select a location that will be best for the clients who they serve.
