Police have arrested a 13-year-old they say stoned three goslings to death in Middletown.

Police say the teen and a friend were throwing rocks at a family of geese at Davidge Park until being chased off by a witness. The Middletown Police Department reached out to the public for tips, which brought them to the boy.

"We get more tips about animal cases than we do human cases because there's something about an animal that strikes a chord with all of us," says Lt. Paul Rickard.

The boy has been charged as a juvenile with "injuring or torturing an animal" and will appear before a family court judge.

Authorities are trying to track down the other teen suspect. They say they hope both boys will get mental health treatment.
