A teen who recently enlisted in the Army got a special welcome home from his family at the Westchester County Airport on Friday.
Angelo Renne, 18, enlisted in the Army after graduating from Eastchester High School.
"Ever since he was little when he would go to the barber shop, he would sit in the chair and say ‘I want a Marine haircut,’” says Jennifer Renne, Angelo’s mother. “Throughout all of his school years, it was Marines and Army.”
He flew to Fort Benning, Georgia, 22 weeks ago to start basic training.
His family welcomed him home on Friday for his two-week holiday break.
"I couldn't ask for anything else, I don't want anything else,” says Angelo’s father, Anthony Renne. “It's the best Christmas gift I ever got."
Angelo Renne says he plans to spend his break doing things like eating foods he's not allowed to on base and sleeping.
