The upcoming holiday prompts changes to the trash pickup schedule in our area:

In Mount Vernon:

Today's schedule includes newspaper and cardboard pickups on the north side, while garbage collection will occur on the south side.
On Thanksgiving Day, there will be no trash pickup services.

In Orange County today:

Trash pickups are scheduled in Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery.
However, on Friday Nov. 24, recycling services will be suspended in Fort Montgomery, and collections will not take place.
