VACCINE INFORMATION: Check to see if you are eligible
This comes not only as eligibility expands in New York to people age 30 and older this week, and to 16 years and older next week -- but also as vaccination rates in some Rockland neighborhoods lag.
In parts of Monsey and Spring Valley, just 4% of people are fully vaccinated, while the state average is now up to 18%.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day says having a facility in the county will hopefully bring those rates up. "This is huge. It'll allow us to attack the virus that's critically important right now with the infection rate being elevated."
The site will start off giving out 500 doses per day, and eventually ramp up to 1,000 soon.
In order to make an appointment for this site, you have to go through the state's  'Am I Eligible' website or by calling the state's COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-697-4829.
All the initial appointments online are already filled up but make sure you're checking the state's vaccination website in case someone cancels, or if the state adds more appointments.
