Viewing services were held on Sunday for a volunteer firefighter who died in a fire at his Thornwood home.
A steady stream of mourners arrived at the funeral home in Pleasantville for 26-year-old Sean Carroll.
Carroll worked for the Thornwood Fire District for eight years before he died in a fire at his own home on Thanksgiving.
"It’s a family member, it's an extended family. You'll see people coming who might not have known Sean Carroll,” says Herbert Doerr, of the Thornwood Fire District.
Outside the funeral home, a firetruck was outfitted with an American flag and the purple and black bunting to honor the beloved comrade.
The funeral mass for Carroll will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne.
The Rye Brook Police Benevolent Association is running this fundraiser to support the Carroll family.
