It's time to get your Halloween on with the 22nd annual Tarrytown Halloween Parade. Village officials say this year they are expecting more than 10,000 spectators to watch extravagant floats, folks in elaborate costumes and various performers including the Headless Horseman.
The parade steps off at 5 p.m. Saturday from Patriot's Park, then makes its way down Broadway to Main Street. Afterward a block party will be going on throughout the village with live music and much more.
Police and village officials are strongly urging people to take the Metro-North train to the Tarrytown station. There is very limited parking in the village, there will be road closures, and traffic throughout the area is expected to be extremely congested.
Parade officials also recommend driving to Ossining, Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, or Hastings-on-Hudson to take advantage of the fall events going on in those villages before and after the parade on Saturday, then take the short train ride to Tarrytown.
