Pancreatic cancer, known as the silent killer that affects millions of Americans, is being combated this weekend by thousands across the Hudson Valley.

The Lustgarten Foundation is urging everyone to participate in a walk to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer and to raise funds for a cure.

The foundation's CEO, Linda Tantawi, joined News 12 this morning to discuss why this cause is so close to her heart and what people can do to help.

The walk is scheduled for Sunday, April 14, at Westchester Community College, located at 75 Grasslands Road, Lot 8 in Valhalla.

The event opens at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 9:30 am.
