Thousands of illegal immigrants and their supporters rallied in Newburgh Monday in favor of immigrants? rights. As part of the "A Day Without Immigrants" boycott, the illegal immigrants did not work, go to school or spend money. Instead, they headed over to the City Activity Center on Washington Street. They were hoping to send the message of how important immigrants are to the U.S. economy. Many immigrants, both legal and illegal, say they were not only fighting for their jobs, but fighting for their families as well.
