News 12's Lisa LaRocca was in Thunderbolt 12 checking on damage and road conditions after wild storms crossed the Hudson Valley Wednesday evening.
The storms brought down trees and power lines across the region. Heavy rains flooded numerous roadways.
In White Plains overnight, the northbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway were closed at Main Street while southbound lanes were closed at Chatterton Parkway. Over on the Saw Mill River Parkway, southbound lanes were shut down at I-287 in Elmsford.
Crews came in to clear the clogged drains to help bring the water down but then had to clear all the mud and muck, so it was just too dangerous to let traffic through until it was cleared.
They worked overnight to get the parkways reopened just as the morning rush started to pick up.
The storm also caused power outages in several communities across the area, but most were restored before daylight.
