Scarsdale schools remained closed for the third straight day Wednesday due to storm-related power outages, as utility crews report they've hauled 300 tons of debris from the battered community.
Residents say they are boiling water, and doing what they can to get by, but are frustrated with the time it's taking for things to return to normal. The lights were back on at ScarsdaleHigh School Wednesday night, but nearly half of the town was still without power.
Con Ed says it has restored electricity to 150,000 customers. At the height of the storm, 80,000 were in the dark.
Several private schools in Westchester were also still without power.
The timetable for reopening is unclear as Con Ed is reporting more than 17,000 customers are still without power.
