The Croton Falls Fire Department responded to the scene just south of Exit 8 on I-684 southbound, a little after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The tractor-trailer ran off the road and down an embankment. Crews assessed the truck's engine compartment and ruptured gas tank, successfully containing the spill.
The right lane of traffic was blocked for an hour during the response.
