A traffic alert has been issued for drivers in New Rochelle, as a section of North Avenue will be closed starting tomorrow.

The State Thruway Authority announced that southbound traffic on North Avenue will be re-directed at Lockwood Avenue to Memorial Highway.

The closure is necessary to replace the North Avenue bridge over I-95.

Northbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane, and there will be extended closures of the bridge.

The project is expected to be completed later this year.
