The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has released an update regarding the closure of Route 218.

The roadway has been inaccessible since July due to severe damage inflicted by intense storms during that month.

Recently, NYSDOT geologists and engineers conducted an on-site survey, focusing on inspecting the exposed bedrock of the culvert washout. Despite these efforts, a specific reopening date remains unannounced.
