TV newsman Tom Brokaw at West Point to accept prestigious award

Former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw attended a ceremony at West Point Thursday to accept the academy?s 2006 Thayer Award. The Thayer Award honors those who exemplify the academy?s motto: duty, honor and country.

Former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw attended a ceremony at West Point Thursday to accept the academy?s 2006 Thayer Award.
The Thayer Award honors those who exemplify the academy?s motto: duty, honor and country. Brokaw received the award for his work on the news and his book, ?The Greatest Generation,? in which he writes about several West Point graduates.
Previous recipients of the award include notable honorees such as Sandra Day O?Connor, Bob Hope and former President George Bush.
