Police are searching for two men they say are responsible for robbing a 10-year-old boy in Allerton.
The duo approached the boy just after 4 p.m. on Jan. 2 in front of 2500 White Plains Road.
Authorities say the men shoved the boy before taking his hat and approximately $45.
The men ran from the scene, traveling northbound on White Plains Road.
Police say the child was not injured.
One man was last seen wearing a black sweater with the word “scream” and dark colored pants. The other was seen wearing all black, according to authorities.
This comes as city data shows robberies on the rise in the neighborhood, up 50 percent from this time last year.
The NYPD asks anyone with information to call its Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
