Police in Greenwood Lake are working to locate two teenage boys who left their homes last week and were last seen in Key West, Florida.

Officials say the teens have been classified as runaways since Thursday, not missing persons. They appear to be intentionally avoiding police by staying off electronic devices and social media.

Initial tracking information showed the boys traveled through New Jersey and Philadelphia before reaching Key West. Surveillance footage from a local coffee shop confirmed they are in the area and did not appear to be in distress.

Greenwood Lake police are coordinating with the families and the Key West Police Department to bring the teens home. In the meantime, the department is asking the public not to spread unverified information online.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Greenwood Lake police at (845) 477‑9211.
