Joseph P. Van Leuvan, a resident of Ulster County, is facing charges of grand larceny and forgery.

Police began investigating after Mountain Ridge Excavation and Construction filed a complaint in June.

Investigators found several checks issued to Van Leuvan that were not authorized by the company.

It was revealed that Van Leuvan had issued 16 fraudulent checks to himself between April and June, totaling more than $15,000 in unauthorized deposits.
