The United Hebrew Home of New Rochelle received a $325,000 state grant, with more than half of the funds allocated to upgrade food services.
The remainder will go toward expanding their short-term care facilities with a new rehab pavilion.
“Since 2009 we've been providing meals 3 times a day 365 a year so you can imagine some of the equipment we bought in 2009 has decreased in its functionality, so what we're doing with this money is purchasing brand new dishwashing equipment, it doesn't sound sexy but it is the lifeblood of what we need to do," says Rita Mabli, president of United Hebrew.
