Economic uncertainty and how local government is handling it was the major focus of the State of the County address in Rockland County Wednesday.
County Executive Scott Vanderhoef says it was the most unique address he ever had to give because the government is trying to wade through the economic crisis just like every family - by doing more with less.
Vanderhoef says two ways he plans to tackle the crisis are job creation and a property tax cap of no more than 3 percent.
Despite the economic gloom, the fourth-term county executive says Rockland County government is on solid footing.
"Our hope is to convince the legislature and the public that we're doing what we need to do to meet the needs of our residents," Vanderhoef says.
