Hundreds came out to mourn the death of six members of the Joy Fellowship Christian Assemblies Church based in the Bronx who died on Saturday after a tragic accident on the New York State Thruway.
A standing-room only crowd turned out to the Victory Seventh Day Adventist Church which hosted the vigil.
Bishop Simon White, who helped start the church, was remembered for all his plans to help the community as well as in Jamaica.
Pastor Robert Reid, whose church the van was traveling to on Saturday, lost his mother, Elaine Reid, in the accident.
Reid said, "I try to be strong but every now and then when I see my family break, I break."
