A viral racist rant in Ulster County is now under investigation as a possible hate crime.
A video of the incident went viral on TikTok last week after the biracial Shawangunk couple at the other end of the rant posted it.
In the video, a woman appears to repeatedly yell a racial slur and other obscenities at the couple in their shared driveway in the Town of Shawangunk.
Tina Foy and her fiancé Navy veteran Raldon Scott filed a harassment report -- along with others involving the neighbor with town police for the last year. They say they’re concerned for their safety.
“It’s been ongoing, and it’s gotten to the point where we aren’t safe at home - the one place you’re supposed to feel safe," says Foy.
The couple say they hope their landlord and authorities will intervene.
News 12 reached out to the property manager but was hung up on.
News 12 tried to contact the couple’s neighbor by phone, but her number is disconnected.
Shawangunk police say the incident is under investigation, but no charges have been filed so far.
