Voters will be heading to the polls TODAY to decide on the North Rockland Central School District budget.
The budget would leave more than 100 teachers and aides without a job while raising property taxes for residents of Haverstraw by 7.6 percent. Taxes for Stony Point residents would be reduced.
Officials say the budget is necessary after a reduction in state and federal aid to the district, but some residents are questioning why the district isn't tapping its $80 million in reserve funds to help close the budget gap.
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
