Family, friends and classmates came together in Suffern yesterday to remember a 15-year-old girl who was fatally struck by a train at the Nanuet station over the weekend.
Ariana Wellen, of Tuxedo Park, was killed Saturday while walking with a friend north of the train station.
The conductor of the NJ Transit train said he blew the whistle and tried to stop when he saw the girls, but it was too late. Wellen's friend was unharmed.
A funeral service for Wellen will be held tomorrow at St. Mary's Church in Tuxedo Park. Wellen will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.
