News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says the warm temperature trend will continue throughout the Hudson Valley on Friday before a chance of rain on Saturday.
WHAT'S NEW: The Hudson Valley set a new record high on Thursday. White Plains hit 88 Thursday afternoon, besting the previous record of 82 in 1977. More warmth is on the way Friday and Friday night.
WHAT'S NEXT: The chance for rain goes up for the weekend as the temperatures cool down. But those daytime highs will still be trending above the average high of 59. Rain arrives Saturday afternoon and through the evening hours. Another system comes through Sunday evening and leaves Monday afternoon.
FORECAST
OVERNIGHT: A few passing clouds and very warm temperatures. Lows in the mid- to upper-50s to low-60s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny skies with some scattered clouds later on as the warm temperature trend continues. The record high of 78 set in 1968 will be broken. Highs in the mid- to upper-80s. Lows in the upper-50s to low-60s.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance for rain. Temperatures will still be running well above average. Highs in the upper-60s to low-70s. Lows in the mid-50s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance for spotty showers, mainly in the late day hours. Highs in the low -to mid-60s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies at first with rain showers that will taper off through the day. Expect breezy winds as well. Highs in the upper-50s to low-60s. Lows- in the upper-40s.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy and breezy with a very small shower chance. Highs in the low-to mid-60s. Lows- in the low-40s.
WEDNESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low-to mid-60s. Lows in the mid-40s.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny skies. Highs in the mid-60s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny skies. Highs in the upper-60s. Lows in the upper-40s to low-50s.
SATURDAY: A mix of sun and clouds with a small rain chance. Highs in the upper-60s. Lows in the upper-40s.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy with a chance for rain. Highs in the low-60s. Lows in the upper-40s.
