Warming centers have opened across the Hudson Valley due to the bitter blast. The centers are open to anyone.

Warming centers open across the Hudson Valley
Warming centers have opened across the Hudson Valley due to the bitter blast. Here's a list of centers in your area to help keep you safe and warm. 
ROCKLAND COUNTY
The Rockland County Warming Center, operated by Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland, is open to homeless single adults at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center in Pomona. For more information call 845-942-5791.
Here is when and where individuals can be picked up for transportation to the center:
Nyack
Nyack at 7 p.m. at Broadway and Burd in front of the First Reformed Church of Nyack.
Haverstraw
Haverstraw at 7:30 p.m. from the Commuter Parking Lot across from Village Hall.
Spring Valley
Spring Valley at 5:30 p.m., 6:10 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. at the Spring Valley Bus and Train Station.
Pomona
Pomona at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday only at the Building L Bus Shelter.

Individuals may go directly to the warming center location between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. There will be no walk-ins after 9:00 pm. If it is after 9:00 p.m., you can go to your local police department who will assist you in accessing the warming center.
To use this warming center, individuals:
  • Must be 18 years old and older
  • Have no other housing options available
  • Able to provide for their own care
  • Must provide information for Intake
  • Pose no risk to themselves or staff members

Poughkeepsie
Adriance Memorial Library
93 Market St., Poughkeepsie
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday
Boardman Road Branch Library
141 Boardman Road, Poughkeepsie.
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Saturday
Fishkill
Blodgett Memorial Library
37 Broad St., Fishkill
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday
Local law enforcement agencies can connect individuals to shelter opportunities or you can call or text HELPLINE at 845-485-9700 available 24/7.

Pine Plains
The Pine Plains Town Hall says the community center will be available to the public on Feb. 3  as a warming center. Contact Amanda at supervisor.secretary@pineplains-ny.gov with questions.
Beacon
The Beacon Salvation Army will be open in Dutchess County as a warming center. 

WESTCHESTER COUNTY

Mount Vernon
Warm up at the Doles Center
250 South 6th Ave.
Doors will open until 11 a.m. Sunday
Any questions, call 914-665-244.
Men will be separated from women and children. Families are not excluded.
Mamaroneck
The Village of Mamaroneck has opened a warming center to the public during this arctic blast.
The red room located in the Pavilion Building at Harbor Island Park will be open as a warming center to the public on:

Feb. 4 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Feb. 5 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Ossining
The Joseph G. Caputo Community Ctr. will be open as a warming center until Feb. 5. Regular programing will remain uninterrupted.


Saturday, Feb 4: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday, Feb 5: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

When the Community Center is open as a warming center, the open swim times at the Aquatic Center will be available for $5/person without a membership. Aquatic Center hours can be found here.
Village of Port Chester

Peekskill 
Jan Peek Shelter in Peekskill will be available to anyone who needs a place to stay.
Yorktown 
There is a warming center at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center in Yorktown Heights. If your home is too cold, you can stay overnight at the Albert A. Capellini Center to stay warm and charge your devices.
