Police in Warwick are investigating a rash of burglaries as residents take extra precautions against intruders.
According to police, the first burglary occurred on August 15 along Route 94 South. Police say a week later, the burglars struck twice in the same day, hitting a home on Horizon Farms Drive and another on Stonehenge Road. The latest break-in took place Monday on Iron Mountain Road. Police say some homes that were burglarized had an alarm system, but the residents didn?t activate it.
According to investigators, the homes seem to be targets of opportunity. They are working with police in New Jersey to compare notes on similar burglaries there.
Meanwhile, residents are taking precautions to make sure their homes are safe, including locking doors and windows. Others say they will make sure their alarms are on when they leave the house.
