It was a meeting of generations in Warwick today as veterans from as far back as World War II joined active-duty Iraq War veterans to celebrate their common cause, and for the community to give back to those who protect them.
Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Iraq War marched proudly down Forester Avenue for Warwick's annual parade that has been a running tradition in the village since 1919.
The parade continued to Memorial Park where vets shared memories with one another and thanked the community, but urged that no one forget.
"It's something we have to do," said Vietnam Vet Bob Fabrizio. "We have to get out there and keep this in front of people. Let them know the sacrifices all of the veterans made for this country."
