A 17-year-old from Warwick has been making special backpacks filled with care items for foster kids.
Amber Vitoulis says she got the idea for her "Butterfly Bags" from a Girl Scout project a few years ago. She says she has made more than 100 bags since.
The bags are made from donated items and given to children of all ages when they are removed from their home and placed in foster care. “When I found out these foster kids were taken out with garbage bags, I’m like that’s like throwing your whole life away in a garbage bag and being brought somewhere else," says Vitoulis.
Donations can be made at Guardian Storage locations in Warwick and Chester.
