Police say a woman was killed early yesterday morning in Warwick when the Toyota she was driving apparently crossed a double-yellow line and collided with a tractor-trailer cab.
Investigators believe 36-year-old Alison Szambel died instantly when her vehicle crashed into the truck at around 6:30 a.m. on Kings Highway.
Szambel's car was pinned underneath the front of the truck when emergency responders arrived, forcing the roadway to be shut down for hours during the morning commute.
The driver of the truck was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital with minor injuries. Warwick police say their investigation is ongoing.
