Westchester County officials released their requests for proposals on what to do with the historic Rye Playland amusement park today, as attendance at the county-run park continues to decline.
The request for proposals involves about 100 of the 280 acres of the park. The only thing that will not be allowed on the site is any kind of residential developments.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino says the county is suffering multimillion-dollar losses at the taxpayer-funded park.
Officials say formal proposals are due on Feb. 10, 2011. The county is expected to take about three months to look them over, before deciding if any of them are worth considering.
