New York's controversial restaurant curfew is set to come to an end next month, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday.
Cuomo says the 12 a.m. food and beverage curfew will be lifted for outdoor dining areas May 17 and for indoor dining areas May 31.
The governor also says the 1 a.m. curfew for catered events where proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test is provided will be lifted May 17, with the curfew for all catered events to be lifted May 31.
Catered events will be allowed to resume service at residences May 3 above the New York's residential gathering limit of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, as long as several requirements are met.
Cuomo also says guidance for dancing among attendees at catered events will be aligned with neighboring states, replacing fixed dance zones for each table with social distancing and masks.
In New York City, Cuomo says seating at bars will be permitted May 3.
