A blanket of snow over the weekend kept police from searching Monday for the 25-year-old Brooklyn woman who was last seen near the apartment of a Middletown man.
Police say Laura Garza was seen with convicted sex offender Michael Mele, 23, after they left a Manhattan nightclub in December.
Police have said they searched Mele's apartment and discovered that it had been cleaned with bleach and was missing a piece of carpet, but Mele has not been charged in Garza's disappearance.
However, Mele is being held at the Orange County Jail on a probation violation. He is set to appear Tuesday in Westchester County Court on charges unrelated to Garza's disappearance. Police are continuing to search for clues that may link him to Garza's case.
