President Donald Trump agreed to pause the 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada on Monday.
Now, Westchester businesses are reacting. Some say they're still on edge.
"It is very nerve-racking because it throws everybody in turmoil," says Mike Beckerle, owner of Beckerle Lumber.
"I know it's going to affect prices once it goes into effect and availability," says Collin Redley, owner of Dobbs Ferry Automotive.
News 12 spoke with two businesses. Both say although a pause brings them a little relief, they're worried about what happens when the 30 day pause is over.
"The unknown is what gets everybody very uneasy so right now everybody's on hold about buying for the spring season," says Beckerle.
Beckerle Lumber in Rockland County says it gets about 20% of their products from Canada.
Dobbs Ferry Automotive says many of its products and parts come from Mexico.
"I have to wait and see. I really don't know the outcome, but it doesn't look very good," says Redley.
Both businesses told News 12 that if it goes into effect, they're preparing to pay more for their products and charge their customers more too.
The Business Council of Westchester says it's hard to tell right now how businesses could be affected.
"We don't know what they will be except for the fact that people are concerned about having to increase in cost," says John Ravitz, with the Business Council of Westchester.
