6h agoPeak mosquito season is approaching the Hudson Valley.
To help fend them off, Westchester County is giving out free mosquito dunks.
The dunks have bacteria that kills mosquitos, black flies and fungus gnats' larvae.
They are most effective near spots with standing water like bird baths or unused pools.
Free dunks will be available Friday at the department of Public Works on Lake Street in White Plains from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
