The dogs were allegedly found underweight, emaciated and covered in feces and urine.

A Peekskill woman was charged with animal cruelty over the condition of three young dogs in her custody, according to Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace.

Shannon Deleg, 33, owned three terrier mix dogs, each between approximately 1 to 2 years in age.

One of the dogs, Red, was allegedly found emaciated, 15 pounds underweight and covered in feces and urine. According to a veterinarian’s examination, Red was barely able to walk due to lack of muscle mass and had experienced a life of starvation and negligence.

The two other dogs, Giru and Luna, are also alleged to have been found underweight, emaciated and covered in feces and urine.

The three dogs were surrendered to the custody of SPCA Westchester.
