Westchester man acquitted of attempted murder in Brooklyn subway track shove case

A Westchester County man was acquitted of attempted murder charges stemming from a 2024 incident in which prosecutors said he shoved a man onto subway tracks in Brooklyn.
Andrew Pashinin, 20, of Harrison, was found not guilty of attempted murder but was convicted of attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Kings County District Attorney's Office.
The incident happened in December 2024 at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center subway station.
Prosecutors said Pashinin pulled out a knife and walked behind a 33-year-old man on the platform.
Authorities said Pashinin later put the knife away and began recording the man with a camera.
A verbal dispute followed, and the victim walked away, prosecutors said.
Pashinin then allegedly followed the man and shoved him from behind onto the subway tracks.
The victim managed to get off the tracks moments before a train entered the station.
He suffered pain and bruising.
Pashinin was arrested about a month after the incident.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
His attorney had no comment on the verdict.
