A graduate of Fox Lane High School scored the opportunity of a lifetime when he and his business partner appeared on the ABC TV show - "Shark Tank."
Sam Chason, class of 2016, and his business partner, Matt Gronberg, presented their business, Storage Scholars, on last Friday night's episode.
Chason and Gronberg created Storage Scholars while attending Wake Forest University in 2017. The pair saw the need for better campus storage solutions for international students. The company partners with universities to put students' belongings into storage for the summer — and trains students to do the work, creating jobs on campus in the process. The company has already racked up an impressive $1.826 million in sales last year.
The duo was on the show seeking $250,000 for 5% of their company.
Mark Cuban, meanwhile, offered $250,000 for 12%, saying his connections with schools could be worth as much as his cash investment. After some back and forth haggling, Chason and Gronberg took the offer for $250,000 for 10%.
