White Plains Hospital brought employees together for its first-ever Diversity Day.
It was a chance for spotlight staff and recognize diversity in the workplace.
There was singing, dancing, and food.
It's also a way to make every employee feel valued, respected, and included.
The hospital's senior director of human resources says the 3-hour event was a success. "This is a great opportunity to celebrate all of the different cultures and employees and traditions and backgrounds. The goal is to celebrate our similarities but to also celebrate our differences," says Dean Akbar, senior director of Human Resources and Organizational Development.
He says it's also a way to promote unity and understanding.
