The head of the Social Security Administration says the White Plains hearing office will close this month.
The acting commissioner says the office on South Broadway has had long-term issues with mold.
In a statement, Rep. George Latimer says he was deeply disappointed by the response and is frustrated on behalf of his constituents.
Latimer says when the office closes residents will have to travel to New Haven or Manhattan.
